Performers on Oct. 20th Concert – Patrick Fink

Patrick Fink is someone I contacted with the question, “Do you know anyone who I could approach about playing with me?”  I knew he was very busy both as a teacher and as a graduate student so I didn’t think he would be available.  Much to my surprise and relief, he said “what about me?”  I was thrilled.

It has been a real pleasure working with Patrick.  He and I have performed once during the summer at a community event up at Lake George, NY.  Every step of the way, Patrick has proved to be a real partner.

Here is his bio – https://www.patrickfinkmusic.com/about

Patrick Fink pushes eighty-eight black and white buttons in a multitude of professional settings. He earned his degree in jazz piano from Temple University and started a MM in piano performance at West Chester University in fall 2022.

Highlights of collaborative piano experience include a recital with baritone Travis Sherwood in Bristol, UK, performances of Hans Krása’s Brundibár, Jennifer Higdon’s Civil Words, Libby Larsen’s The Settling Years, Stephen Paulus’ A Dream of Time, as well as other major choral works. With The Perspective Collective, Patrick premiered several operatic works over the past years. These include Stephanie E. Leotsakos’ Young Goodman Brown, Sunny and Jim Knable’s The Pride of Pripyat: Tales from Chernobyl, and Mike Leibowitz and Jeremy Basescu’s For Love of Country. He’s also toured with choirs in the US, Argentina, and Europe. Exploring the timbre of a Rhodes electric piano, Patrick recorded Debussy’s Ariettes Oubliées with soprano Diana Corliss (2015).

In January 2021 Patrick premiered two new commissions by David Nord and Tom Lawton on his youtube channel. He teaches piano at the Lawrenceville and Pennington schools and works as a pianist at Rancocas Valley Regional High School. Yes, graduate school is part time! He is grateful for previous teachers Vincent Craig, Ralph Zitterbart, Bruce Barth, and especially Tom Lawton. Patrick is from Pittsburgh, is married to a doctor and currently calls Philadelphia home.
