Aftermath – Cello Duets at Stonebridge – June 5th, 2023 at 3:30

We played out concert and it was enormous fun! There were about 70 people in the audience, which is apparently unusual for an afternoon concert. I got lots of comments after the program at how professional we were and how much people enjoyed it.

Mostly, though, the idea was to give my mother in law some “social cred” at Stonebridge, where she had just moved a few months prior. She got many Kudos for her connection to the performance, so I think we can declare “mission accomplished!”

Original Post

My sister, Laura Bontrager, and I are planning a performance of cello duets at Stonebridge.
We are playing Haydn, Rossini, and Kummer.  We have finally set the date for June 5th.

Laura is a professional cellist and it is always my pleasure to work with her.  Here is her Playbill listing and here is her IBDB listing.  She also teaches at Diller Quaile school where she has taught since 2004.

I might be able to add my pianist and a short piece that we want to play in front of an audience. Update! He is going to play with us. We will play the Chopin e minor Nocturne. Originally written for solo piano, we are playing the arrangement in this YouTube video.
