September’s concert – New Performer

As you know, I am usually joined by my friend Jerry Muntz for the concert. He has been opening up my concerts for 5 or 6 years now and he returns this year. We will play a Gershwin Prelude Number 2. In this recording, you will hear 4 cellos play it. Number 2 starts at 1:34. We will play piano and cellos, but this 4 cello performance is pretty fun!

Patrick Fink returns as well for the lions share of the performance, playing the Chopin Cello Sonata with me as the last piece. The second piece on the program is Arioso & Finale from Suite for two cellos & piano. My teacher, Dr. Mimi Morris Kim will join us to play the second cello part. When I suggested we do something, she readily offered up the Menotti and it has been both a challenge and a joy to work on it. there are 4 movements in the suite, but we are only playing the last two.

I’m thrilled to have both Patrick and Mimi to play with. Giving concerts is such a joy for me and it is a dream come true that I’m doing it.

I hope to see you there!
